SY 21-22 Virtual Class Information

Happy New Year!  I hope this message finds you healthy and well.  This is a reminder that there is no school for students on Monday, January 3rd and Tuesday, January 4th.  We will begin virtual learning on January 5th through January 14th.  We will return to in-person learning on Tuesday, January 18th (this date may be adjusted based on the public health conditions at that time).

Our virtual learning schedule is below:

 VIRTUAL CLASS SCHEDULE

Period 1: 8:00-8:30

Period 2: 8:35-9:05

Period 3: 9:10-9:40

Period 4: 9:45-10:15

Period 5: 10:20-10:50

Period 6: 10:55-11:25

Period 7: 11:30-12:00

Lunch: 12:00-12:45

Asynchronous Learning: 12:45-3:45

Adjusted Class Schedule:  As you can see in the schedule above, we've adjusted the class schedule to reduce screen fatigue.  We expect all students to attend all classes via Zoom each day between 8 am and 12 pm.  The Zoom information for all teachers and courses is provided in the attached document emailed to all families and student accounts.

Asynchronous Learning:  In the afternoon, students will complete an asynchronous assignment on their own and submit it to their teacher.  More information about the asynchronous assignment will be shared later this week.  Again, the purpose of this revised schedule is to reduce screen fatigue and provide a bit more flexibility to students and families during the virtual learning period.

Teacher Office Hours:  Students who need or would like extra support from teachers will be able to schedule time with their teachers between 12:45-2:45 PM each day.  This is a perfect opportunity to receive one-on-one or small group support to help master course content and improve your grades.  We will provide instructions on how to schedule time with teachers later this week.

Student Life Programming:  In addition to the academic class schedule, we will also provide virtual Student Life programming.  The virtual Student Life program schedule will be shared by Mr. Rooks in the coming days.

If you have any questions or need anything, please reach out to Rashida Holman-Jones at rholmanjones@seedschooldc.org or (202) 329-8161.

We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday, January 5th!

 In Partnership,

 Dr. Brian Rahaman
