We’re Thankful for You

Happy Thanksgiving!  It is with great pride I announce that The SEED Public Charter School of Washington, D.C. (SEED DC) has earned a Tier 1 status for the 2018-2019 school year!

This is the third consecutive year SEED DC has earned this prestigious ranking as the only Tier 1 public charter high school in Ward 7, confirming that we are a school that provides a high-quality instructional program for our scholars.

Gratitude is one of the SEED DC’s core values and particularly apt this week as we share time with family and friends to take stock of what we are thankful for.  To that end, it is only fitting that I take this moment to thank you. We extend our heartfelt appreciation for your support of our school and believing in our community. The impact of your giving is realized throughout our 24-hour program and has enabled us to achieve our Tier 1 status again.

At SEED DC, we are committed to empowering our scholars to find their voice as leaders in every step of their journey with us.  In this edition of Inspire: SEED DC you will see an article about our annual Pinning Ceremony during which our scholars are commissioned and celebrated for their participation in student government, peer mentorship, advanced placement courses and Dual-Enrollment programs. It is programs like these that, with your support, allow us to provide educational opportunities that our scholars would otherwise not have.

Lastly, I want to invite you to join us on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at 6 p.m. for a reception as we celebrate over 20 years of excellence in education and the arts.  In addition to attending the reception, you will receive complimentary tickets to enjoy a school performance of Little Shop of Horrors immediately following the reception.  The details of this evening at THEARC are enclosed. You don’t want to miss this special opportunity to gather as a community and enjoy a performance from our Falcon Theatre scholar-artists.

Wishing you a happy thanksgiving,

Mecha Inman
