We are currently seeking a College Counselor for the 2016-2017 school year. The College Counselor will play a critical role in supporting students and families with the mechanics of the college process during senior and junior year. Because we are focused on middle school through college completion, the College Counselor will partner with and regularly collaborate with members of the College Transition & Success (CTS) team as they work with students starting in the spring of their senior year and support them with the transition to and through college. Life skills counselor
Life Skills Counselors are responsible for nurturing and educating the students within an assigned cohort. Life Skills Counselors support and assess overall student achievement. Life Skills Counselors serve as the lead Student Life staff member, with his/her assigned cohort, for one or more designated program initiatives. These can include, but are not limited to, Character Education, Literacy, Presentations of Learning, STEM, Model of Care, College Readiness, student exposure trips, service learning, academic interventions, activities/clubs, and special education. Resident Advisors are responsible for nurturing and educating the students who are entrusted to their care. Resident Advisors are responsible for maintaining a safe, secure environment in which students can learn and grow. Resident Advisors model, guide, and teach students social, self-help, and life-long learning skills. Resident Advisors are also responsible for supporting and assessing student achievement. Resident Advisors also assist students in maintaining relationships with their family by remaining in contact with parents/guardians.
